Just returned from a 3 night break. Had great views, lovely room, great breakfast and very friendly staff. We had no problems parking but would imagine it would be quite difficult later in the season. Had a wonderful time visiting other places and eating out.

We checked in late in the evening and couldn't find anyone at the reception. After searching the whole area for someone to serve us, we got the keys to our room which was clean and warm but some basics like toothbrush were not provided. When asking the reception if they can kindly provide toothbrush, he replied " no, this is not Ritz to provide toothbrush" in a rude impolite way...other than rude staff, the room was clean and reasonable for the price we paid.

We have just come back from a lovely one night stay at Resolution, it was our first stay here and we will most definitely be back. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful, rooms are modern, stylish and homely. The food in the Vault restaurant was superb! We ate our evening meal here and also had breakfast and both were excellent with fabulous service. A beautiful place to stay and eat in Whitby.

I would just like to say our stay at the resolution was so fantastic, would highly recommend 100% From the booking with Amy who was so so helpful when i told her we were getting married in a weeks time. I explained the wedding was at 4pm remembrance Sunday and asked if we could check in early. I booked a table for 9 in the restaurant 5.30 and wanted to dress the tables if that was OK. I spoke to Adam the manger, he was so so helpful and kind. He said I could leave the table decorations with the restaurant and they would dress the tables. The restaurant staff were absolutely amazing and dressed the tables for our return on getting married. We arrived at 12.00pm Amanda was on reception when we all arrived, she arranged everything and made me feel at ease, Wendy was arranging the rooms and took me up to put the suits and wedding dress out of the way whilst we had a drink in the bar. I booked 4 rooms and a suite, it was last minute and we were getting married. Arrived early all the rooms were nearly ready. Absolutely fabulous the beds were comfy and the rooms were spotlessly clean. All the staff couldn't do enough for us. The food was delicious, I mean absolutely delicious everything that was served. Thank you to the chief and all the kitchen staff. All the guests said how fantastic, fresh and tasty the food was. The restaurant staff were so attentive we were all treat so well the drink flowed everyone was served food at the same time, they all did so well, kind and helpful. We were also served 2 x bottles of complimentary prosecco, thank you. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to stay at the resolution, it is so central to everything and the rooms are spotless, the beds are comfy and ALL the staff are so wonderful, helpful,friendly and kind. Thank you so much to all the staff for making our stay unforgettable and amazing. See you on our return 👍❤️💋

Such a lovely place to stay. Rooms spotless Bathroom spotless with a jacuzzi Staff couldn't have done anymore to make us feel welcome. They were always so happy with one singing as she worked. Cleaners were so polite too. It seems a very happy work place. My husband isn't well health wise and didn't want anything from the menu ( I want to add the menu and food was amazing) so I asked if we could order a cheese board for the evening and they said it was no problem at all and it was lovely. They bent over backwards to provide what we wanted. Will definitely stay again. Thank you to everyone. Xx

Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, room was snug but adequate for what we needed. Breakfast was also very nice with a good selection to chose from. I will definitely be going back next time we visit Whitby.

What a delightful hotel! The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the rooms were lovely. It’s in a brilliant location, very convenient for both the town centre and the harbour. While the walk back from town is a bit steep, the hotel thoughtfully provides a voucher for free off-road parking. There’s also an hour’s parking nearby, perfect for dropping off your bags before heading to a nearby free long-stay on road parking spot. The area is fantastic, with some charming micropubs just a few steps away. Breakfast was absolutely top-notch—beautifully cooked and presented, with a great variety of cold drinks, freshly prepared fruit, cereals, and toast. The tea and coffee were spot on too. The restaurant was always busy, which is always a good sign, and rightly so—the food was fantastic. Without a doubt, we’ll be staying here again on our next trip to Whitby!

Absolutely lovely hotel and our room with the whirlpool bath was out of this world. Very central to Whitby and some lovely scenery/walks. Well worth a visit and hope to go back one day. Amazing restaurant called Abbey Wharf has fish and chips to die for and is well worth a visit as well. Love Whitby and will be back one day

Room was perfectly acceptable (with, as odd as this sounds, a REALLY cool sink), and I really like some of the old school feel of the place like slightly uneven floors, old windows and walls, etc. some of it’s history is still here. Very convenient to get to from the train station, friendly staff, good views, great breakfast and the best fish and chips in Whitby for dinner (though it requires a separate reservation). Only complaint is it seems not all rooms are equally decorated and the door on mine needed a good shove to close fully sometimes. Also I woke up in the middle of the night once and thought I saw a shadowy figure with a top hat at the end of my bed but after my eyes adjusted I’m ‘pretty’ sure it was just the outline of the TV/cabinet. 🤷

The only disappointment for us was that we stayed for Sunday Monday and Tuesday and the hotel restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Brilliant hotel. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Comfortable clean ensuit room with gorgeous shampoo and shower gel as well as fluffy white towels. I'd just like to add that the room was the perfect temperature, but included a fan for us extra hot ladies just in case. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice, cooked to order, and served hot. Great position up by the West Cliff and an easy downhill walk to the harbour. Will definitely be back. Thank you x

This has been quite possibly the most faultless hotel stay I’ve ever had, The value for money is fantastic. Beautiful, Clean & beautiful to look at rooms and the fresh breakfast was amazing. We can’t wait to come back already!

For three nights..we had a fabulous time .,the staff were wonderful so very helpful,…the bar staff and restaurant staff ..well they were fabulous…the food was first class…….sorry we missed the manager Adam for a drink…but would recommend this hotel any time….Adrian @ barbara-Ann Denniss.🫶❤️

We stayed in room 2 with a fish tank. The room was absolutely stunning and loved watching the fish was like being at home. Only down side was the sofa and chairs where really uncomfortable but that didn't impact our stay at all. Resturant was amazing especially sunday roast dinner. Thankyou we will be back.

We stayed in room 204 on Sunday 1st September. Nice room, good drinks station, lovely toiletries, sports channels on the t.v. but the mattress was terrible. It felt like I was going to fall off the edge of the bed which led to an uncomfortable sleep. We did report this problem. We had a Sunday roast in the restaurant which was nice and a good breakfast in the morning. Nice that every item was hot and the service was great. Free parking in W zones, just up the street and no problem finding a space. If we visit Whitby again we will definitely stay here.

The full English was more like a 1/4 breakfast we stayed in room 303 top floor 10/08/24 it was red hot with 1 window to open but no air was coming in maybe air conditioning to be added in would really be good.

Super. Can't fault anything, except sticky tables in the restaurant. The evening meal in the restaurant was very good. Breakfast was ok. The room is very homely, clean and we even had a TV in the bathroom. Well worth the money we paid for our stay. We will stay there again.
